Freetown, September 11, 2025 — The Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) has successfully rescued eleven crew members after their vessel, LMV White Prophet, ran into difficulties between Lungi Modia and Conakrydee on Thursday morning.
According to SLMA, the vessel had departed Rogbangba Wharf bound for Guinea when it issued a distress call.
A Search and Rescue team was immediately dispatched, ensuring that all crew members were brought safely to shore without casualties.
In a statement, the administration reiterated its commitment to protecting lives at sea and pledged continued preparedness in responding to maritime emergencies.
It also reminded the public to make use of its toll-free emergency line, 855 (Orange), in case of distress at sea.
