Freetown—Grief and outrage have engulfed the Circular Road community following the tragic discovery of three children in the compound of the National Pentecostal School on Fort Street.
The shocking incident, which unfolded on March 18, has left residents demanding answers and justice.
The nightmare began when a mother sent her three-year-old son, Yusuf, to school as usual, unaware that it would be the last time she saw him alive. When she arrived to pick him up around noon, he was missing. Frantic searches yielded no clues, and school authorities were unable to explain his disappearance.
Hours later, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the family received devastating news—an unidentified body had been found in the school compound. Upon rushing to the scene, relatives and community members were met with a horrifying sight: Yusuf lay lifeless alongside two other children.
Two were confirmed dead, while a young girl, critically injured and showing signs of severe abuse, clung to life. Disturbingly, Yusuf’s arms had been amputated in what appears to be a brutal act of violence.
AYV reported that residents report hearing several gun shots and firing of Tear Gas around Circular Road, Mend Street and Fort Street in Freetown last night.
Reports say the youth took to the streets demanding explanations from the school’s authorities and in the process they started destroying properties of the school.
The police faced heavy confrontation from the protesters in trying to dispatch them.
The community remains in mourning as investigations continue. Residents insist they will not rest until justice is served for the innocent victims.
