Freetown, Sierra Leone — Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio has made several key appointments in a variety of sectors.
The announcement was made in a public notice from State House, dated 13 November 2024, signed by the Secretary to the President, Emmanuel A.R. Gaima.
The appointments reflect the commitment of President Brigadier (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s administration to strengthen leadership across major agencies and enhance governance in the nation.
In international appointments, Mr. Philip Bob Jusu has been designated as Ambassador to Brussels, Belgium, while Dr. Mohamed Kanja Sesay has been named Ambassador to Paris, France. Both ambassadors are expected to foster Sierra Leone’s diplomatic relations and promote international partnerships.
Domestically, Chief Sadique M. Kapuwa has been appointed Chairman of the National Insurance Company, and Hon. Helen Kuyembeh will assume the role of Chairman for the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA). Dr. Wusu Sannoh has been designated as Chairman of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Agency, an office vital for overseeing project effectiveness and government accountability.
In other prominent roles, Mr. Moses Williams will lead as Chairman of the Statistics Council, while Ambassador Joseph C. Biell has been appointed Chairman of the National Telecommunications Agency. Mr. Mohamed E. K. Alie has been tasked with dual chairmanships for the National Commission for Social Action and the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation.
Additional appointments include Madam Kaday Zorokong, who will serve as Chairman for both the Sierra Leone Telecommunications Company and the Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission. Ing. P.K. Lansana has been appointed Chairman of the Sierra Leone Water Company, and Mr. Joseph Ndanema will head the Independent Police Complaints Board.
Other significant appointments include Mr. Sau Kpulun as Executive Chairman of the Produce Monitoring Board, Mr. Jabez Rogers-Wright as Managing Director of the National Insurance Company, and Mr. Raymond Katta as Principal of the Civil Service Training College. Finally, Dr. Victor Massaquoi has been appointed to oversee the Office of the President’s Public Affairs Division.
