In a significant move towards gender equality and empowerment, Sierra Leone’s President, Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio, has officially appointed Madam Isata Jabbie Kabbah as the Presidential Adviser on Gender, within the Office of the President.
Madam Isata Jabbie Kabbah, a prominent figure in Sierra Leonean politics, is known for her leadership roles in various political organizations, including the All Political Parties Women Association (APPWA). She is also recognized as the widow of Sierra Leone’s 3rd President, Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.
Before assuming her new position, Madam Kabbah served as the National Women’s Leader of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) and held the role of women’s leader within the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
This appointment underscores the government’s commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity at the highest levels of decision-making in Sierra Leone.
