Police Sergeant Frederick has won NLe240,000 in the Mercury International Lotto after staking NLe100 on two tickets in the Mercury Daily Special draw on 8th September 2026, according to Mercury International.
The 29 year old Freetown based officer played the numbers 12-24-32 and matched the winning numbers.
Sergeant Frederick, who said he has been a loyal Mercury International customer, won the prize after missing the earlier Cotton Draw.
“I decided to attack the Mercury Daily Special draw with double tickets,” he said. “I was not expecting such a huge win, and I do believe it was my time.”
After tax, the Sergeant received NLe204,314. He said he has no immediate plans for the money but would invest it in a business.
“I will continue to live the same quiet lifestyle as if I hadn’t won such an amount,” he said.
Presenting the cheque, Mercury International Chief Finance Officer Mr Ekudayo Rowe advised him to “use the money responsibly” and invest in something worthwhile.
Sergeant Frederick said he had previously won NLe36,000 and NLe20,000 in lotto, but described the latest win as a major milestone.
