The Office of the Peace Ambassador in Sierra Leone has issued a strong condemnation of a recent statement by Abdul Kadiru Kaikai, which has been widely circulated on social media.
In the video, Kaikai threatens to bring war to the country if he is not elected President in the 2028 Presidential Elections.
Peace Ambassador Alhaji Amadu Bah emphasized the need to maintain peace and stability in Sierra Leone, urging all citizens to respect the democratic process.
“Threats of war and the use of guns to achieve political power have no place in a democracy,” Bah declared.
The Peace Ambassador called on all political leaders to avoid inflammatory language and incitement to violence, instead promoting unity and dialogue during times of disagreement.
Ambassador Bah believes the future of Sierra Leone depends on its citizens working together to build a peaceful and prosperous nation.
“It is essential for all individuals in Sierra Leone to prioritize peace and stability, rejecting any attempts to disrupt the democratic process through violence,” Bah urged.
He reminded the country of the devastating 11-year civil war and stressed the importance of ensuring such dark times do not return.
The Office of the Peace Ambassador remains committed to supporting peace and reconciliation efforts and calls on all citizens to join in these crucial endeavors.
