Freetown – Sierra Leonean music stars Kao Denero and Famous have been placed under a strict court order preventing them from posting or sharing any information about their ongoing trial on social media.
The ban, issued by Magistrate Adama Kandeh, follows concerns raised by lawyers from both sides that the artists’ frequent online updates were fueling public bias and distorting the facts of the case.
According to the court, bloggers and fans had been amplifying one-sided narratives, creating an atmosphere that could compromise a fair trial.
Magistrate Kandeh stressed that the courtroom, not social media, is where justice will be decided.
She made it clear that the case will rely solely on evidence presented before the court, not on online commentary or trending posts.
The ruling sends a strong warning to both artists and their supporters that while public interest in the trial remains high, justice must be protected from outside influence.
