Former ADP Presidential candidate, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, has accused the government of targeting him following the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest by the Court of Appeal.
In a statement shared on social media, Mansaray alleged that President Julius Maada Bio and senior government officials are involved in a cocaine syndicate and are attempting to silence him. He claims that his role in exposing the operations of Leijdekkers Jos, an alleged drug trafficker in Sierra Leone, has put him in the government’s crosshairs.
“They’re coming after me so they can continue their cocaine trade and use Sierra Leone as a hub. I just happen to be standing in their way,” Mansaray stated.
The warrant was issued after Mansaray failed to appear in court for the hearing of his appeal. Currently residing in the United States, it remains uncertain whether he will return to Sierra Leone to face legal proceedings.
The case has been adjourned to February 27, 2025.
