In response to an appalling incident during the Sierra Leone women’s premier league match between Mogbewmo Queens and FC Kallon female, FC Kallon management has taken decisive action.
The club has dismissed three officials implicated in the altercation with the female referee.
“It has come to the attention of FC Kallon Management that a video circulating on social media depicts an action of assault on a female referee by members associated with the Club, following the match between FC Kallon’s Female Team and Mogbwemo Queens, on February 9th, 2024, at the MK 3/10 Playing Field, in Angola Town,” stated Ibrahim Kanu, Secretary General of FC Kallon.
“After thorough review and investigation, the Club management has clearly determined that Mr. Alhaji Mansaray, Safety and Security Coordinator, Mr. Leornard Augiden, Welfare Officer, and Mr. Abdul Hindolo Karim (fan), were involved in that reprehensible incident.”
“In light of their actions, FC Kallon Management hereby announces the immediate stripping of their positions within the club. Such behavior goes against the principles of sportsmanship and respect that the Club upholds. We strongly condemn any form of violence as a Club, especially towards match officials,” added Ibrahim Kanu.
