The results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been officially released today, October 10, 2024.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey during a live broadcast on SLBC TV.
This year’s results analysis shows a 19.7% pass rate in English and a significantly higher 46% pass rate in Mathematics. Out of the 238 results released, 220 students met the university entry requirements, marking a remarkable 92% pass rate.
However, the results for 27,097 candidates from a total of 146,179 students across 816 schools have been withheld due to concerns over examination malpractice.
Among the top performers was Alpha Bah, the Deputy Senior Prefect of Saint Edward’s Secondary School, who achieved an impressive 6A1s. The school also saw several students scoring at least six A’s and many B2’s and B3’s, further demonstrating strong academic performance.
WASSCE is a crucial exam for final-year senior secondary students, determining their eligibility for tertiary education and shaping their future career paths.
