Freetown, 2nd 2023 – The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has issued a public notice today, informing the general public of ongoing technical challenges affecting the consistent supply of electricity to residents in Freetown.
The primary issue arises from Independent Power Producers (IPPs), including EGTC, Karpower, and CLSG, experiencing difficulties in synchronizing their generated power with the Bumbuna Hydro Electric Power Dam. This synchronization is crucial for the onward transmission of electricity for distribution by EDSA.
EDSA is actively collaborating with technical experts in the energy sector and those working for the IPPs to resolve the problem swiftly. While the situation is being addressed, the authority extends its sincere apologies to its valued customers for any inconvenience caused.
In a statement, EDSA assured its customers that every effort is being made to fix the issue as soon as possible.
The authority also expressed gratitude for the patience and understanding of the public during this challenging period.
For further updates and information, residents are encouraged to stay tuned to official channels and announcements from the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority.
