In a recent press statement, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have announced the successful completion of the verification process for polling staff who reported for duty on September 1st, 2023.
This verification process covered a substantial number of polling staff distributed across all 16 districts within the nation. Payments to the verified polling staff have commenced through the Rokel Sim Korpor platform. Those who have undergone verification are strongly advised to keep their mobile phones switched on, as they will be promptly notified via SMS about the availability of their payments by Rokel Commercial Bank.
Upon receiving the SMS notification, the polling staff are instructed to visit any Rokel Commercial Bank branch or Rokel Sim Korpor cash-out point in their respective districts to collect their payments. It is essential for the polling staff to carry along the same ID card used during the verification process.
In a bid to facilitate access to payments, Rokel Commercial Bank will soon establish cash-out points in districts where such facilities are not readily available. Polling staff will be informed promptly as these facilities become operational.
