FREETOWN, Sierra Leone – In a significant operation against illegal narcotics, law enforcement officers stationed at the Mile 38 checkpoint halted a suspicious vehicle on Thursday, January 15, 2026, uncovering a hidden stash of contraband.
The intercepted car, bearing the license plate AWT 232, was being operated by Sheku Koroma when authorities discovered 12 packages believed to contain illicit substances concealed within the vehicle.
Koroma, along with his companion Abdulai Jalloh, both residents of Cambull Town in the Waterloo area—were promptly detained at the scene.
