Freetown, Sierra Leone – Bo Rangers Football Club has officially called on the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to fulfill its obligation by disbursing the championship prize money for the 2023/2024 Leone Rock Premier League.
In a letter addressed to SLFA General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh on October 29, 2024, the club’s Secretary-General, Abubakarr Bangura, expressed concerns over the delayed payment of the promised funds.
“As you know, Bo Rangers FC concluded the league season as champions, demonstrating exceptional performance and dedication throughout the competition,” the letter stated. “However, despite the league’s conclusion, the promised championship prize money has not yet been received.”
Bo Rangers FC, who secured the league title with a remarkable performance, highlighted the financial strain the delay has placed on the club’s management and planning.
“This delay has caused genuine concern among the club’s management, especially the Board,” Bangura added.
The club urged the SLFA to prioritize the matter.
“We kindly ask the Football Association to expedite the processing of the championship funds to ensure that our club is duly rewarded for its hard work and achievement. Timely disbursing of the funds is essential for the club’s financial planning and future endeavors,” the letter emphasized.
The correspondence, copied to the Chairman and Secretary of the Premier League Board, reflects Bo Rangers’ expectation of swift action from the SLFA.
The Sierra Leone Football Association is yet to respond to the club’s appeal. Football fans and stakeholders await a resolution to ensure that Bo Rangers FC receives its deserved recognition and support as champions of the 2023/2024 league season.
