State House, Freetown — Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio has announced a fresh wave of appointments to key government institutions, in a move aimed at strengthening governance and service delivery across sectors.
According to a statement issued by Presidential Press Secretary Yusuf Keketoma Sandi on Thursday, July 17, 2025, the following individuals have been nominated, pending parliamentary approval where required:
* Ms. Jenneh Jabati has been appointed as Deputy Minister II in the Ministry of Finance.
* Mr. Stephen M. Swaray will serve as a Board Member at the Bank of Sierra Leone.
* Mr. Victor V. Kamara has been named as a Board Member of the Road Maintenance Fund.
* Ing. Henry Baio, Madam Ngozi Beckley-Lines, Ing. Joseph Bockarie, and Madam Mary A.M. Rogers have each been appointed as Members of the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC).

These appointments, according to the Presidency, are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to inject fresh expertise and ensure robust oversight across financial, infrastructure, and utility regulation bodies.
Parliamentary approval will be sought where necessary, in line with constitutional provisions.
The statement did not specify timelines for when the new appointees will formally assume office but emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency and competence in public sector leadership.

Appointment of more people in the governance sector cannot solved any issues just adding more Budden on the national budget.
