Pelumi Nubi, a courageous Nigerian lady undertaking a solo trip from London to Lagos, has hit a roadblock at the Sierra Leonean border. Despite her remarkable journey spanning over two months, Nubi faced a setback as Sierra Leonean officials denied her entry, citing restrictions on “right-hand drives” in their country.
The journey, which began on January 30, 2024, has captured the attention of over 40,000 followers on Nubi’s Instagram page. In a heartfelt update, she expressed her disappointment at being denied access so close to her final destination, Lagos.
Nubi appealed to her virtual family for words of encouragement, highlighting the daunting challenges she has encountered at each border crossing.
Describing her journey as both physical and spiritual, Nubi turned to prayer for strength as she navigates through this unexpected hurdle. Despite the setback, she remains hopeful for a resolution that would allow her and her trusty companion, Lumi, to continue their journey.
With her scheduled arrival in Lagos just days away on March 23, Nubi’s determination to overcome obstacles serves as an inspiration to many.
As supporters rally behind her, the hope remains that common sense will prevail, enabling Nubi to complete her remarkable solo expedition.
