In a grim discovery, the lifeless body of a 35-year-old woman was found in a river near Kamaseh village, on the outskirts of Kabala township.
Responding swiftly, a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Kabala Division, led by Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police (D/ASP) Mohamed Hindolo Feika, along with medical professionals from Kabala Government Hospital, visited the scene.
The victim, identified as Iyeba Barrie, was found floating partially unclothed with visible facial injuries.
The body has been transferred to Kabala Government Hospital for a postmortem examination.
In the wake of this tragedy, Alimamy Kamara of Kamaseh village, who was reportedly the last person seen with the deceased on the morning of Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, has been detained by authorities to aid in their investigation.
