In the ongoing rescue operations at the site of a collapsed four-storey building in Congo Town, Freetown, emergency teams have recovered another construction worker from the debris this morning.
Sadly, the worker was found deceased, and his body has been transported to Connaught Hospital.
This recovery brings the total number of workers extricated from the rubble to four, with one confirmed fatality.
Rescue operations have resumed today as teams continue their relentless efforts to locate any remaining individuals who may still be trapped beneath the debris.
Mohamed Bah, the Director of Communications for the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), has confirmed that search and rescue efforts are actively ongoing.
Authorities fear that more victims could still be buried under the collapsed structure.
This tragedy comes just weeks after another four-storey building in Freetown collapsed, claiming the lives of three people, including a 19-year-old pregnant woman.
