The National Disaster Management Agency of Sierra Leone has officially designated the University of Management and Technology (UNIMTECH) building in Freetown’s East End as a “high-risk disaster hotspot.”
This announcement was made by Mohamed Elba, the Agency’s Director of Communications.
Elba explained that the classification followed a thorough assessment conducted by the Director of National Disaster Risk Reduction.
“We have advised the Ministry of Works that the college should cease using the building due to the risks it poses to students and staff,” Elba stated.
Founded on July 16, 1991, as the Kissy Computer Training Institute (KCTI), UNIMTECH is dedicated to training computer users and professionals in Sierra Leone.
