Freetown October 09, 2023 – In commemoration of Columbus Day, a significant U.S. holiday, the U.S. Embassy will remain closed for official business today, October 09, 2023.
This closure is part of the nation’s observance of the historical significance of Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas.
Embassy services, including visa applications and consular affairs, will be temporarily halted for the day. However, citizens in need of emergency assistance can still contact the embassy through its emergency hotline.
“The U.S. Embassy will be closed for official business today October 09 in honor of Columbus Day – U.S. Holiday. The embassy will resume official business tomorrow October 10,” the Embassy stated in a post shared on their social media handles.
