Freetown, Sierra Leone — The United States Embassy in Freetown has issued an important consular update regarding changes to its visa services.
According to the announcement made today, access to the previous visa service provider’s website and related services will cease on August 16.
“Please be informed that starting today, August 16, you will no longer be able to make new visa appointments, cancel or reschedule existing appointments, or access customer service through the old platform,” the Embassy stated in its update.
The suspension of services will last until August 26, during which time no appointments or changes can be made.
The Embassy urged visa applicants to take note of this temporary interruption.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the public’s patience as we transition to a new service provider. We will update the public with information about the new website in due course,” the statement concluded.
The Embassy advises all visa applicants to monitor its official communication channels for further updates on when the new service will become available.
