Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has announced an increase in the five-year driver’s license tariffs, effective Monday, September 2, 2024.
This move is part of the authority’s commitment to maintaining road safety and delivering quality services amidst rising global inflation.
In a statement released on August 29, 2024, SLRSA explained that the decision to increase the tariffs was driven by the need to adapt to the current economic conditions and ensure the sustainability of its operations.
“Operational expenses have significantly increased due to global inflation. The adjustment in license tariffs is necessary to cover these rising costs and ensure the sustainability of SLRSA operations,” the statement read.
SLRSA further emphasized that maintaining quality road transport services requires adequate funding.
“The increment in license tariffs will enable SLRSA to uphold these standards and enhance road safety for all road users,” the management added.
