In response to recent widespread rumors and speculation, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has issued a press release to provide clarity on the current status of the Leone Stars Technical Team.
The SLFA has categorically stated that no new appointments have been made for coaches or technical staff within the Sierra Leone National Team.
The statement outlined the following key points:
- The SLFA has not made any new appointments within the Sierra Leone National Team’s coaching staff.
- The Head Coach of Leone Stars, John Keister, who holds a valid three-year contract, remains in charge. His contract is set to expire at the end of August 2023.
- Due to Keister’s contract expiring shortly before match-day 6 of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers between Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone, the SLFA has temporarily engaged Keister and his backroom staff to oversee the team for this important match.
The SLFA emphasized its commitment to providing accurate information and urged the general public to rely on its official media channels for any further updates regarding the status of the Leone Stars Technical Team.
The Association also assured that more information would be communicated after the Guinea Bissau-Sierra Leone encounter scheduled for early September in Bissau.
For further updates and official announcements, the public is encouraged to stay tuned to the Sierra Leone Football Association’s official communication channels.
