Sierra Leone Police Officer Honored as ‘Ideal Officer’ in International Counter-Terrorism Training

Inspector Ishmeal Keifala of the Sierra Leone Police has been awarded the prestigious title of “Ideal Officer” during the graduation ceremony for the Countering International Terrorism training course, held at the Egyptian Police Academy on October 16, 2024.

This intensive program, designated as course number 362, ran from August 24 to October 17, 2024, in collaboration with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) at the Police Research Centre (PRC).

Inspector Keifala’s stellar performance throughout the course distinguished him among participants from 21 countries, earning him multiple accolades for his exceptional contributions and leadership. His accomplishments include:

– Outstanding Performance: Demonstrated superior skills in both the academic and practical applications of counter-terrorism strategies.

– Discipline: Maintained the highest standards of conduct and professionalism throughout the training period.

– Physical Excellence: Achieved remarkable fitness levels and resilience during physical training exercises.

– Marksmanship: Attained top results in shooting drills, reflecting his commitment to law enforcement proficiency.

– Leadership: Served as the chief of course No 362, where he provided exemplary mentorship to fellow trainees.

Other Sierra Leonean officers who successfully completed the rigorous training include Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Martin Fayia, and Inspector Frances A. Blake.

In an exclusive interview, Inspector Keifala expressed his pride in receiving such recognition. “I am elated to be singled out among participants from 21 countries, representing Sierra Leone in a commendable manner,” he stated.
