Foday S Kamara, the Head of Communications and Digital Transformation for Dr. Samura Kamara, leader of Sierra Leone’s main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), has issued a statement responding to recent accusations within the party regarding the country’s political situation.
In his statement, Kamara affirmed Dr. Samura Kamara’s commitment to the democratic process and the will of the people, emphasizing that negotiations between political leaders aim to resolve the political impasse and ensure stability in the nation.
He also addressed personal attacks against Dr. Kamara’s family, urging for a more respectful political discourse focused on issues and policies.
Furthermore, Kamara defended Dr. Kamara’s leadership, highlighting his extensive history of public service and policy reforms, as well as his contributions to strengthening public institutions in Sierra Leone.
Regarding concerns about silence on certain issues, Kamara clarified that Dr. Kamara takes all concerns seriously and is actively consulting on the best path forward for the nation.
Kamara concluded by announcing that Dr. Kamara will address the nation through a press conference to be held at the APC party headquarters on Tuesday, 3rd October 2023, at 12 pm GMT, on the eve of the forthcoming inter-party-political dialogue.
