State House, Freetown, Tuesday, 5th August 2025 – A cross-section of Advisers to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, including Alpha T. Wurie (Adviser on Human Capital Development), Isata Jabbie Kabbah (Adviser on Gender), Alpha Timbo (Adviser on Employment and Labour), Alpha Kanu (Special Adviser and Presidential Spokesman), Major General (Rtd.) Kellie Conteh (Security Adviser), and Desmond Pessima (Adviser on Youth Affairs), held a strategic briefing session with the President at State House.
The engagement focused on updates around governance policy, good governance practices, and progress made so far across various sectors. The advisers presented a detailed assessment of gains recorded, key challenges faced, and recommendations for stronger collaboration with line ministries to drive positive outcomes for all Sierra Leoneans.
They also proposed additional actions aimed at enhancing regional development, improving rural access, and addressing urban congestion in the Western Area.
In his response, President Bio expressed deep appreciation for the valuable insights and guidance provided by his advisers.
“I thank you for your service to the nation and for the information you have provided,” the President said. “I value your experience and expertise, which continue to inform strategic decision-making.”
Addressing the challenges identified in governance delivery, President Bio reaffirmed his strong determination to overcome them in order to improve the quality of life for citizens and ensure economic stability.
“Let me assure you of our genuine commitment to providing a stable economy,” he stated. “I also recognise the significant role of our youth. We are working closely with the relevant line ministries to unlock their full potential, equipping them with skills that will enable them to become productive citizens and contribute meaningfully to national development.”
He concluded the meeting by thanking the advisers for what he described as a “fruitful deliberation” and assured them that his doors remain open for further engagements.
