The outgoing Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Sénégal, Alhaji Brima Elvis Koroma paid a farewell call on the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye today, Thursday 24th October, 2024 at the State House in Dakar.
In his speech to President Faye, Ambassador Koroma reminisced his tour of duty which he described as “invigorating in every respect and seemed short to me, as the experiences lived were beautiful, exhilarating and enriching. On the eve of my departure, there are feelings of eternal gratitude, but also of deep sadness”.
Highlighting his wonderful working experience, he stated “My stay in your beautiful country allowed me to familiarise myself with qualities recognised among your compatriots, such as maturity, humility and wisdom. Senegal has indeed always been able to surpass itself to give reason to its many friends who rightly consider it as the precious compass for our dear continent that today faced with many challenges”.
President Faye thanked him for his services during his stay in cementing further the relationship between Sénégal and Sierra Leone. He called on him to always be a brother and friend of Sénégal and wished him success in his new role.
President Faye said the joint cooperation agreement recently signed between Senegal and Sierra Leone was a step in strengthening relationship between the two countries. He also said he was proud of the role played by the President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio during the United Nations General Assembly meeting and during the country’s presidency at the Security Council.
Ambassador Koroma served for six years as Ambassador to Sénégal accredited to Mauritania and Cape Verde. He goes with a wealth of experience in administration, diplomacy and negotiation to Algeria as Sierra Leone’s new Ambassador.
