Freetown, Sierra Leone — Mohamed Jalloh, a 28-year-old final-year student at Freetown Polytechnic, has become the first-ever winner of the Mercury International Online Jackpot 1×2 promotion in Sierra Leone.
Jalloh secured a remarkable prize of NLe 607,662.90 ($22,758.91) after placing a bet of just NLe 5, approximately $1.90.
Jalloh, a loyal Mercury International customer for over four years, expressed his disbelief and joy: “I’ve won before, but nothing like this. When I saw my online account, I was speechless. It wasn’t until I visited the Mercury office that the reality sank in.”
The student has yet to decide how to use his winnings but plans to consult his mother.
During the cheque presentation at Mercury International’s headquarters, Deputy Online Manager Octavus Jackson congratulated Jalloh, advising him to use the money wisely and encouraging others to participate in future promotions.
Jalloh’s victory came after correctly predicting 15 1X2 outcomes, including Leicester City’s dramatic 98th-minute win over Southampton.
