The heads of the two leading champions in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr. of East End Lions and Babadi Kamara of Bo rangers have called football fans to unite and see football as an enabler of socio-economic transformation.
The two men made the call to fans ahead of East End Lions and Bo Rangers encounter this evening at the Southern Arena in Bo city.
These two great men will meet again in what is dubbed the fiercest competition in the first round of the Leone Rock Premier League. It will be, not because one of them is competitive like the other, nor because the other is better placed on the league table, but because, regardless of their form and position in the league, they will be playing for their pride.
The history of these two teams has been a bittersweet moment in these last 3 years, mainly because of their passionate fans.
However, what will make today’s game more thrilling and a must-watch is the fact that two passionate leaders who have the courage and history of empowering young people will meet for the first time after almost a year since these photos were taken.
Babadi and Navo are two household names in Sierra Leone who continue to do their part in the socio-economic transformation of our beloved nation.
Therefore, today’s game will be more about showcasing to the world that Sierra Leoneans love football, that there are talents here, and finally, the best side needs to be seen.
Note, regardless of who wins today, there will only be one outcome – we have talented young people and meant to be nurtured, particularly if we are prepared enough to unite and see football as an enabler of socio-economic transformation.
“Of course, I am biased in favor of East End Lions and would like to see them win convincingly because they have, over the years and to date, assembled the best football talents nationally.
Winning today will complement the hard-earned efforts of the Management and technical team including the players and beloved fans of East End Lions,” Mr. Navo noted.
