Freetown, 16 October 2025 – Three men accused of conspiring and carrying out the killing of Yusifu Bangura at Juba Hill have been remanded in custody following their first court appearance.
The accused, Foday Konneh, a farmer; Abdulai Kamara, popularly known as Rasta; and Ishmael Feika, a contractor—were arraigned before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on Wednesday, October 15.
They are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and murder, contrary to the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, as revised under the Abolition of Death Penalty Act 2021.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on September 24, 2025, at Youth Farm, Loko Feika, in Juba Hill, Freetown.
Investigators allege that the accused, together with other unidentified persons, conspired to murder Yusifu Bangura. It is further alleged that Kamara and Konneh directly participated in the killing.
The accused did not take a plea as the case is still at the preliminary investigation stage. Prosecutors told the court that all required documents have been served to the defense, a point acknowledged by their lawyer.
Magistrate Fornah ordered the three men to be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre.
Witness testimonies are expected at the next hearing, scheduled for October 17, 2025.
