In a strategic move, the legal team representing ex-president EBK is preparing to file for yet another adjournment in the ongoing trial, citing medical reasons.
The highly anticipated case is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow, March 6th.
This latest development follows the previous grant of adjournment bail to the former president, permitting him to seek medical treatment in Nigeria. Despite this temporary reprieve, it appears that the legal battle surrounding EBK’s alleged treasonous actions remains firmly on track.
Koroma, was President from 2007 to 2018, had received permission from judicial authorities to spend a maximum of three months in Nigeria for medical treatment.
The former president has been charged with four offenses including treason for his alleged role in a failed military attempt to topple the government on the 26th of November last year.
Koroma was granted bail when the court indicted him on January 3 this year and has since been confined to his home in the capital Freetown from where he was allowed to leave for treatment in Nigeria.
