In a shocking incident on the night of 18 November 2023, Torijehun Village, along Newton-Fogbo Road, Waterloo, is reeling from the news that a class 6 pupil from Regina Cole Primary School, Torijehun, has suffered paralysis of her two feet and right hand.
The unnamed victim alleges that eight of her classmates pushed her into a deep pit after a disagreement over a witchcraft expedition.
Local authorities, specifically the Newton Police Post in 4 Mile, Waterloo Division, are grappling with the perplexing case and have sought assistance from the Sierra Leone Traditional Healers’ Union.
The alleged witches, comprising eight women and one man, including the victim, have been handed over to Sallieu Salia Bah, the Head Man of Torijehun Village.
Amidst the turmoil, a Police medical form has been issued to the victim, now chair-bound, for examination and treatment at the Rokupa Government Hospital.
