Freetown — The JAGABAN Movement has taken delivery of 25 brand-new modern buses at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay Port, marking another step in its initiative to improve public transportation across Sierra Leone.
A delegation from China, led by Mr. Bruce, joined officials for an inspection of the buses on Friday, July 17, 2026. The vehicles arrived as part of a broader JAGABAN project that also includes motorbikes and solar lights.
Speaking on behalf of the movement’s leading flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, spokesperson Mr. Saidu Gibril Buzzom Kamara welcomed the Chinese delegation and described the delivery as “another promise kept.”
“This represents a major milestone in JAGABAN’s commitment to national development and the improvement of public transportation in Sierra Leone,” Kamara said during the inspection.
Mr. Bruce, head of the Chinese delegation and manufacturer representative, confirmed that all 25 buses were in excellent condition. He stated that the buses would enter public service once standard port clearance procedures are completed.
“I commend JAGABAN’s vision for delivering meaningful development across Sierra Leone,” Bruce added.
