The 25-year-old has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract, committing him to Ewood Park until the summer of 2027. The transfer fee remains undisclosed.
“Sierra Leone international Augustus Kargbo becomes our third January signing, joining from Italian side Cesena on a deal until June 2027. Welcome aboard, Augustus 👋,” the club posted on social media.
Kargbo began his professional career in Italy with Campobasso before moving to Crotone, where he made his Serie B debut in January 2019. He gained further experience during loan spells at Roccella and Reggiana, notably scoring the decisive goal that secured Reggiana’s promotion to Serie B in July 2020. In August 2023, he joined Cesena, where he netted 13 goals in 51 appearances.
On the international stage, Kargbo has earned 19 caps for Sierra Leone since his debut in October 2021, contributing five goals. He was part of the national squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
