In response to a circulating article on social media, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Sidie Yahya Tunis, has issued a statement refuting claims of a proposed National Delegates Conference scheduled for next month.
Tunis, who was quoted in the article, emphasized, “There are no such plans for the party to hold a National Delegate Conference next month.”
He further pointed out that the APC’s 2022 constitution provides clear guidelines for office elections and the timing of National Delegate Conferences. Any statements contrary to these constitutional provisions are deemed an intentional effort to sow confusion within the party.
Addressing the alleged interview in the article, Tunis stated, “I have granted no interview to any individual or media house about plans to hold a National Delegate Conference next month, so quoting me in the said article is not only mischievous but an attempt to tarnish my reputation.”
He concluded by urging party members, supporters, and the public to disregard the circulated article, reaffirming the absence of any imminent National Delegates Conference plans.
