In a pivotal meeting of the National Advisory Council (NAC) held on July 22, 2024, at the APC Party headquarters, influential stakeholders, including Regional and District Chairmen, convened to discuss the party’s future direction following a challenging year marked by limited progress due to the contentious outcomes of the 2023 elections.
During the extensive NAC session, party leadership underscored the importance of moving forward and highlighted their roles as elected officials tasked with advancing the party’s agenda.
Despite the absence of Dr. Samura Kamara, the APC Party’s 2023 flagbearer, the meeting successfully deliberated on key resolutions aimed at the party’s advancement.
The leadership reached a consensus on several strategic actions:
Firstly, a thorough review of the Agreement for National Unity Document was mandated, with a commitment to follow through on the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations regarding Electoral Management, Institutional, and Legal Reforms.
Additionally, acknowledging delays stemming from the June 2023 elections, the party agreed to commence membership registration one year before the national delegate conference, with primary elections to follow the next year. This directive aligns with the party’s newly adopted constitution.
Furthermore, the leadership resolved to conduct a national symposium focused on training APC-affiliated bloggers, ensuring they disseminate constructive, professional, and accurate messages crucial for the party’s advancement in today’s digital age.
APC leadership also urged bloggers to avoid divisive content and promote unity within the party and beyond.
