Freetown, Sierra Leone – January 20, 2026 – The All Peoples Congress (APC), one of Sierra Leone’s major opposition parties, has announced the availability of application forms for various ward-level positions in preparation for its upcoming regional ward conventions.
The move is seen as a step toward strengthening grassroots structures within the party, which operates under the motto “Action Progress Commitment.”
In a public notice dated January 17, 2025, and signed by National Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya Esq., the APC informed its members that forms can now be obtained from the party’s regional offices. These include the Headquarters & Western Region at 11A Old Railway Line in Freetown; the Eastern Region at Victor Brima Street, RTI-Kenema; the Northern Region at 12, Field Road, Makeni; the North-West Region at 1 Fudia Road, Port Loko; and the Southern Region at 41c Sukutamba Street, Newswite Section, Bo.
Aspiring candidates are required to submit hard copies of their completed applications directly to the relevant regional offices. Additionally, applicants must send a snapshot of the form via WhatsApp to the number 073802003 within 14 days from the date of the notice’s publication.
The party emphasized that submissions must include proof of membership registration and up-to-date receipts for subscription payments, underscoring that full compliance with these requirements is essential for any application to be considered valid.
“Unconditional membership registration and all matters incidental thereto are core conditions for the consideration and subsequent validity of any application so filed,” the notice stated, highlighting the party’s commitment to transparency and procedural integrity.
The application forms are available for a fee of Twenty New Leones (NLe 20), making the process accessible to interested members. The APC, founded in 1960 and known for its role in Sierra Leone’s political landscape, including governing the country from 1968 to 1992 and again from 2007 to 2018, continues to position itself as a key player in national politics.
Party officials have not yet announced specific dates for the ward conventions, but the notice signals an active phase of internal organization. Members interested in running for positions are encouraged to act promptly to meet the submission deadline.
This development comes amid ongoing political activities in Sierra Leone, where the APC remains a vocal opposition to the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). Analysts suggest that these ward-level elections could influence the party’s strategy ahead of future national polls.
