Turku, Finland – 21-year-old Sierra Leonean international striker Alie ‘Nzonzi ‘ Conteh has signed a one-year loan deal with Finnish Veikkausliiga side FC Inter Turku from Norwegian club Strømsgodset Toppfotball.
The talented attacker, known for his pace, skill, and clinical finishing, has been handed the prestigious number 10 jersey, a number historically worn by creative playmakers at the club, symbolizing flair and leadership on the pitch.
Conteh’s journey to Turku is a testament to his rapid rise in football. Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 29, 2004, he honed his skills on local streets before breaking through with East End Lions in the Sierra Leone Premier League.
His impressive performances caught the eye of European scouts, leading to a move to Norway’s Mjøndalen IF in 2024, where he excelled in the second tier. A subsequent transfer to Strømsgodset saw him score twice in limited appearances, while earning caps for Sierra Leone’s national team.
The loan deal includes an option for Inter to make the transfer permanent, reflecting the club’s confidence in his potential to contribute immediately.
This signing comes at an opportune time for Inter Turku, who are enjoying a stellar period. In the 2025 Veikkausliiga season, they finished second with a record of 17 wins, 10 draws, and 5 losses, amassing 61 points and securing qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. Adding to their silverware, Inter clinched the 2025 Finnish League Cup, defeating KuPS in the final for their third title in the competition. Currently, in the 2026 League Cup, they have topped Group A with a 1-0 victory over FC Lahti, advancing to the semi-finals scheduled for March.
