The Executive Director o Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), Mr. James B. Bio is heading a high-level delegation at the invitation of the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission.
On Wednesday, 1st July, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr. Julius F. Sandy, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as part of an official three-day working visit to Abuja.
The delegation was accompanied by senior officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Abimbola Owolabi, Assistant Corps Marshal for Policy, during the visit to the Sierra Leone High Commission in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Bio disclosed that the SLRSA delegation was in Nigeria at the invitation of the Federal Road Safety Corps for a three-day engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing institutional collaboration between the two road safety agencies.
He noted that the visit would further consolidate the longstanding partnership between Sierra Leone and Nigeria in the area of road safety administration and management. According to him, the delegation will hold strategic meetings with the FRSC to exchange experiences and learn from Nigeria’s best practices and operational models that could be adapted to strengthen Sierra Leone’s road safety system.
Mr. Bio further revealed that the visit will be climax by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority and the Federal Road Safety Corps to deepen technical cooperation, promote knowledge sharing, and foster sustained collaboration in road safety administration.
Welcoming the delegation, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Julius F. Sandy, commended the Executive Director and his team for visiting the Chancery during their official mission.
Dr. Sandy underscored the importance of building strong institutional partnerships, describing them as essential to advancing national development and deepening cooperation between Sierra Leone and Nigeria. He reaffirmed the longstanding cordial bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that such collaborations continue to deliver tangible developmental benefits for both nations.
The SLRSA delegation includes Abu-Bakarr Sheriff, Esq., Secretary to the Authority and Board; Mr. Joseph H. Momoh, Director of Finance; Mrs. Assanatu Judith Mansaray, Director of Human Resource; Mrs. Elizabeth Joko Bassey, Director of Audit; and Mr. Ambrose Tucker, Manager of Research and Planning.
