Freetown, Sierra Leone – April 13, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has opened an integrity investigation and suspended referee Foday Momoh.
The move follows a petition from Star Sport Academy FC. The SLFA Referees Committee says it has verified evidence, including voice recordings and phone records, showing attempts by club officials to influence match officials and acts of retaliation against referees.
Foday Momoh has been suspended indefinitely while the investigation continues. The suspension is described as a precautionary step to protect the process.
The SLFA, working with the Leone Rock Premier League Board, will carry out a full probe. Anyone found guilty will face strict punishment under FIFA and CAF rules.
The association stressed that it is committed to keeping football in Sierra Leone clean and fair. It called on all stakeholders to fully cooperate.
The statement was issued by Lamin Tarawalie, SLFA Media and Marketing Officer.
This is the latest effort by SLFA to protect the integrity of the game.
