Freetown, 27 July 2025 — A man identified as James Kamara, a resident of Grassfield in Freetown, was arrested on Friday following a significant drug seizure at the Fallah checkpoint.
Kamara was traveling in a Lexus with registration number AYL 967, reportedly en route to Kenema, when he was stopped by joint security forces for a routine inspection.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered approximately three and a half plastics of suspected Kush carefully concealed inside.
The arrest was made as part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to crack down on the transport and distribution of illegal substances across Sierra Leone.
Kamara is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the origin of the drugs or whether Kamara is linked to a broader network. However, his arrest underscores the growing vigilance of security personnel in tackling the country’s drug problem.
