On Saturday, April 26, 2025, a delegation from Wynn Records, led by CEO Ruben Branson and acclaimed American rapper Papoose, visited the construction site of the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown.
The hospital is undergoing a significant transformation into a 600-bed, state-of-the-art medical facility, marking a pivotal advancement in Sierra Leone’s healthcare infrastructure.
The 34 Military Hospital, historically a 150-bed facility, is being expanded to include specialized wards for men, women, and children, as well as a Center of Excellence dedicated to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. This expansion is part of a broader initiative championed by First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, aiming to enhance healthcare services across the nation.
Wynn Records, a premier full-service talent and music agency, is exploring opportunities to support healthcare and educational initiatives in Sierra Leone. The visit underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility and its interest in contributing to the country’s development.
During the visit, CEO Ruben Branson expressed admiration for the project’s scope and the potential impact on the community. “Witnessing the dedication to improving healthcare here is truly inspiring,” Branson remarked.
Papoose added, “It’s an honor to see firsthand the efforts being made to uplift the healthcare system. We look forward to finding ways to support this noble cause.”
The 34 Military Hospital’s expansion is expected to be completed by the end of the year, positioning it as the largest and most advanced medical facility in Sierra Leone. The project includes the establishment of a nursing school and a partnership with the American International University to transform the hospital into a teaching facility, further contributing to the nation’s medical education and services.
The visit by Wynn Records’ leadership highlights the growing interest of international entities in supporting Sierra Leone’s development initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector.
