The popular messaging platform announced this decision, effective October 24, 2023, leaving users with these devices in the lurch.

WhatsApp defended the move, citing the need to allocate resources to support cutting-edge technology.
The decision coincided with the platform’s recent update, introducing new features and aligning with its commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
In an official blog post, WhatsApp stated, “To keep up with the latest advances in technology, we routinely stop supporting older operating systems to point our resources to supporting the latest ones.”
Notable exclusions from WhatsApp’s support list include HTC One M, Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G Pro, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Sensation, Motorola Droid Razr, Sony Xperia S2, and more.
Users are urged to upgrade their devices to ensure uninterrupted communication through the widely-used messaging app.
