Freetown, Sierra Leone – March 5, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced a five-day extension to the second phase of the 2025/26 League Transfer Window, providing clubs with additional time to finalize player registrations and transfers.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SLFA informed all clubs and stakeholders that the window, originally set to close earlier, will now remain open until Sunday, March 8, 2026.
The extension begins immediately from Wednesday, March 4, and aims to accommodate the needs of teams navigating the association’s regulatory processes.
“The extension is intended to allow clubs additional time to complete their player transfers and registration processes in line with the Association’s regulations,” the release stated.
It emphasized the importance of utilizing this period efficiently, warning that no further registrations or transfers will be accepted beyond the new deadline.
Clubs are urged to act promptly to avoid any disruptions to their squads ahead of the upcoming league fixtures.
The SLFA’s decision comes amid what appears to be a busy transfer period, though specific details on ongoing deals were not disclosed in the announcement.
The press release was signed by Ibrahim Kamara, Head of Media and Marketing at the SLFA. For more information, stakeholders can contact the association via email at slfamediadept@gmail.com or visit their website at www.slfa.sl.
