The Sierra Leone Police Council has announced the appointment of Aiah Edward Samadia as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police.
The confirmation was made in an official statement issued today, July 31, 2024, by the Inspector General of Police.
The statement reads: “In accordance with Section 157(2) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, it has pleased the Police Council of the Republic of Sierra Leone to appoint you as Deputy Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police.”
The statement further details the appointment, noting that the “salary grade of the post is sixteen (16).”
The Inspector General expressed his congratulations to Samadia, saying, “I wish to congratulate you on your appointment and wish you success, God’s grace, and guidance in your new post.”
Prior to this appointment, Aiah Edward Samadia served as the Regional Police Commander for the North East Region.
