In a sweeping operation conducted from dawn till dusk, authorities have apprehended three individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the east end of Freetown.
Among those arrested are Ishmael Turay, known as Isho, Mohamed Bangura, alias Ortito, and John Ali Mansaray, all residents of Peace Market, Ferry Junction.
The suspects were found in possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics, including 367 wraps, 59 wraps, and 18 wraps of Kush, respectively.
In a coordinated effort, law enforcement also detained the landlord of the premises, identified as 28-year-old Franklyn Luke. Luke faces charges related to facilitating drug trafficking activities on his property.
The Operations Team of the Harbour Police Division spearheaded the raid, underscoring their commitment to combatting drug-related crimes. LUC Kpulun, head of the division, emphasized zero tolerance for drug offenses, pledging to rid communities of such illicit activities with the full support of stakeholders.
The suspects, along with the confiscated evidence, are currently in police custody pending further investigation.
