On Tuesday evening, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio visited the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown to express solidarity with the wounded and pay homage to those lost during Sunday’s security breach and attacks.
In a statement shared on social media, President Bio remarked, “Earlier today, I visited 34 Military Hospital in Freetown where members of the Security Forces who sustained different degrees of injuries during the November 26 failed attempted coup are being treated.
President Bio extended gratitude to the military officers for their gallantry, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to defending democracy in Sierra Leone.
He reassured the officers that the Government and people of Sierra Leone are eternally grateful for their bravery, emphasizing that their sacrifice to protect the nation will not be in vain.
“I assured the Officers that the Government and people of Sierra Leone are eternally grateful to them for their bravery, while also reassuring them that their sacrifice to protect our nation will not be in vain,” Bio added.
