The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Kenema Division has arrested a man identified as Ishmeal Kallon following a major drug operation that led to the seizure of a significant quantity of Kush.
According to Sergeant 9441 Hamid Kamara, Head of the Trans-National Organized Crime Unit in Kenema, the arrest took place during simultaneous raids across the city in the early hours of Wednesday, 6th August 2025.
Acting on intelligence, officers targeted a residence at 5 Hassan Street, suspected of being a hub for Kush distribution.
“Between midnight and 1:00 a.m., we conducted a search at the premises and found 21 sachets and 31 polythene bags containing substances believed to be Kush,” Sergeant Kamara told the media.
The suspect is now in custody and assisting police with further investigations. Authorities say the operation forms part of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Tower’s ongoing crackdown on the trade and distribution of Kush in Kenema and across the Eastern Region.
Police have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking in the area.
