Kenema, Sierra Leone — The Sierra Leone Police in Kenema have arrested a woman captured in a viral social media video assaulting a young girl she accused of having an affair with her husband.
According to police sources, the suspect, reportedly a married woman from Kono District, is now in custody as investigations continue into the incident.
The video, which has sparked widespread outrage online, shows the woman physically attacking and verbally abusing the victim. Preliminary reports suggest that the suspect allegedly lured the girl from Freetown to Kono after discovering that her husband had been secretly seeing her whenever she travelled for business.
Pretending to be her husband, she reportedly invited the girl to meet her, leading to the violent confrontation caught on camera.
Police say the victim is currently receiving medical attention, while the suspect remains under investigation for assault and other related offences.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow the law to take its course.
