The body of Mr. Sallu Moina Kanneh, Finance Officer of the Ndomakeh Federation, has been recovered from a river near Sasahun village, ending several days of uncertainty over his disappearance.
Reports said Kanneh had been missing since the early hours of March 11, 2026, after leaving his home in Daru, Jawei Chiefdom, for morning prayers and failing to return.
Residents of Sasahun village discovered the body on Tuesday and alerted the authorities. It was later confirmed to be that of the missing official.
Police in Daru have opened an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding his death. No further details have yet been released as inquiries continue.
The incident has caused widespread sorrow in the community, where Kanneh was remembered by many as a dedicated and respectful man.1¹¹
